TIMES OF INDIA REPLACEMENT VRC - AIROLI

Bennett Coleman & Co., India, which is the owner of one of India’s most popular dailies, is a highly regarded customer of Datar Engineering, as far as high capacity VRCs go.

We have successfully installed over 6 high-capacity VRCs for Times of India Presses all over India. It is safe to say that we have gained their trust through our skill. The very first project that we executed for Times of India, was at their Airoli Press, wherein, we had to replace a previously installed hydraulically operated lift (not supplied by Datar Engineering.).

The problems faced by our customer with the hydraulically operated lift were  as follows:

  • The hydraulic  lift had fewer safety features as compared to the eletro-mechanical VRC supplied by Datar Engineering.
  • It was difficult to achieve perfect leveling between the floor and lift carriage.
  • The hydraulic lift gave a jerk every time it was started.
  • High maintenance of the hydraulic drive system.
  • Risk of contamination by oil in a Paper based industry.

With the VRC supplied by Datar Engineering, the new features experienced by Times of India were:

  • With high regards to safety features, Datar Engineering provided state of the art Safety Cams, and enclosures around the VRC.
  • Landing Doors at each floor were of mechanized vertical bi-parting type.
  • Perfect leveling was achieved between floor and carriage.
  • Elimination of jerk with use of VFD.
  • Foolproof control with use of PLC programming.
  • Low maintenance with regards to electro-mechanical drive.
  • No risk of contamination of raw materials.
  • High Speed
  • Reliable, Safe and ease of operation.
